I don't also think my stories are finicky (well. once a simmer has gotten to the point of 'needing' pose boxes to write their greatest story ever, the fun has gone from their game, and their writing. From what I've observed in the past, but surely there are plenty of exceptions around. Its a thingy that people who write finicky stories use to go to a lot of trouble to make their sims do what they've written, and then get frustrated if they don't get a huge response, and maybe people who like to make viruses use that vulnerability to attach something unsavoury to it. There have been times I wished I could make my sims act/pose in a certain way, but I can solve that by putting it into words as well.

I must confess I prefer reading game based stories myself because the poses often feel a bit static and unreal to me (probably because I know all the animations in the game too well). I can imagine that's especially fun when you create your own poses and when you're good at making up your own stories (I'm simply not talented enough for that, I need the game to guide me). But the game is very suitable to illustrate made up stories as well and in that case poseplayer is a great tool. I love following the game and the pictures when I'm making up the stories of my sims. I also get frustrated with the many, many poses out there - I find the process really complicated. There's nothing wrong with using Pose Player, but for my style of 'storytelling' it's more trouble than it's worth. (I guess that makes me a Paparazza? LOL!!)Įdited to add: I just want to make clear that I think either way of storytelling is OK. writing a story and arranging my Sims to fit the narrative.) I guess peope who use Pose Player are 'Illustrious Authors' while I'm more of a 'Journalist' reporting on what my Sims do autonomously. I tend to do my storytelling based on the pictures I snap in game, rather than the other way around (i.e. I suppose it's useful for making family shots or something like that. I used PosePlayer for a while, but I find it frustrating to use. package files, not even this time of year. If the new object is there, though, there's something very wrong with your game. You'll need to find it and remove Pose Player from there.

If it is not, then that would be further proof that you are working with the wrong Mods folder and there's another The Sims 3 folder somewhere on your computer that the game is reading. Something cheap, obvious and easy to find, like a chair or another random piece of furniture.ĭelete all your cache files and start up the game. So in your case, I recommend *installing* a random object in your Mods folder. That is all there is to it, but you already said that this wasn't working for you. To remove it, you just remove it from your Mods folder and delete all the cache files before starting up. You already made a topic about this as well.
